We Made It!

Well, the move is OVER, and I hope we never have to move again (unless it’s into a house). It was a scramble to get packed up in Panama City. Bobby was supposed to be home Friday evening before the move, and his flight ended up getting canceled and he didn’t get home until Saturday afternoon. Sunday we went to pick up the truck at U-Haul and a)the truck we reserved was at a different location, even though we specified that we wanted to pick it up there, b)we ordered a car trailer and they gave us a car dolly, c)we waited in line for an hour to find all this out, and d)they were rude about it. So that was fun.Anyways, we never would have gotten everything packed up and into the truck if it wasn’t for our dear, sweet church family. They came over between services, and after the evening service to help us, and we just couldn’t have done it without them. We are so thankful for them for so many reasons, and it was very sad to say good-bye.
Things went a lot smoother once we got to Knoxville, though. Bobby’s dad and cousin came down from MI (and my cousin from AZ flew to Panama City to help us on both ends), and we got everything moved into the apartment/storage unit by 6pm the Tuesday we moved in.
The next day was the 4th, and we went downtown Knoxville, to the World’s Fair Park to watch fireworks, and that was amazing. The symphony orchestra played while the fireworks were going out, and it was so cool to be there with thousands of other Americans, all celebrating the birth of the country we love.
Anyways, we’re still organizing, putting stuff away, but we’re mostly settled. And here are a couple layouts. One of Mia in the back of our moving truck, one of the 4th of July last year, and finally, one of this 4th of July! Enjoy!
